Can we Import and Edit JVC GW-SP100 4K H.264 Footage in Adobe Premiere Pro CC/CS6

October 12, 2017

The GW-SP100 camera system features a video unit with a foldable and detachable 7-inch full HD LCD monitor and includes a wired dedicated remote and camera control panel. For connection between the camera head and the recording/playback device, optional longer cable lengths of 5m and 15m are also available. The camera records at 4K Ultra HD and HD at 4:2:2 150Mbps, and supports up to 50/60p recording in both HD and 4K. 4K footage is recorded as a single file in AVC H.264 format at 150Mbps. Thanks to the system’s two dual codecs and four card slots (two for 4K, two for HD), the camera can record 4K+4K and HD+HD (continuous/dual recording), making it a very flexible system. Recording is via cost-effective SDHC/SDXC cards; a single 64GB UHS-I U3 SDXC card provides around 50 minutes of recorded 4K footage at 60p.

However, there are some problems such as not showing the video but audio only, unsupported file type when playing & editing JVC GW-SP100 UHD/HDvideo in Adobe, especially in 4K. So what’s the matter? And is there an easy workaround to import and edit GW-SP100 4K UHD H.264 Footage in Adobe Premiere Pro with smooth workflow. Read on for details.

Well, according to our multiple testing, we found two main basic reasons behind there. As you know, the GW-SP100 records 4K videos in H.264 codec, but it seems Adobe Premiere Pro(including the recent Premier Pro CC) does not like the way. The file type is a compressed output format, but not ideal for editing in NLE system. What’s more, Adobe PP CS6, CC can handle (usually) 4K files without much problem, but it is extremely hardware intensive.

To solve those problems, the quick workaround is to transcode JVC GW-SP100 4K files to Premiere Pro natively supported formats (MPG/WMV/MOV are highly recommended in 1080p) as primary delivery format. Along with some help from Brorsoft iMedia Converter for Mac, it can be done effortlessly.

If you are Windows user, windows version is available here. Follow the step-by-step guide, you can ingest JVC GW-SP100 4K videos to Adobe Premiere Pro CC/CS6/CS5 for editing. (In this article I take Mac version as an example, Window version have the same steps and the functions.)

Best way to Backup DVD movies on USB-C Flash Drives

September 14, 2017

Tips and solutions about how to backup DVD to USB-C Flash Drive for playing will be discussed in below article.

Source From: Backup DVD movies to USB-C Flash Drive

USB-C is the emerging standard for charging and transferring data. Right now, it’s included in devices like the newest laptops, phones, and tablets and—given time—it’ll spread to pretty much everything that currently uses the older, larger USB connector.

Though the specifications for USB-C were first published in 2014, it’s really just in the last year that the technology has caught on. It’s now shaping up to be a real replacement for not only older USB standards, but also other standards like Thunderbolt and DisplayPort. USB-C is closely intertwined with other new standards, as well—like USB 3.1 for faster speeds and USB Power Delivery for improved power-delivery over USB connections.

There are some occasions that you want to making a backup of a DVD’s contents to a USB C flash drive for convenient playback or management. However, DVD has very heavy copy protection than any other format around and ususally comes with a big size. Therefore, to copy a DVD to a USB-C Flash Drive, you’ll need to find a program that can help you remove the copy protection and rip DVD to digital video files.

Brorsoft DVD Ripper has the ability to copy DVD to USB-C Drive supported file with original video tracks and original 5.1/7.1 channel AC3/DTS Dolby audio. The secrete weapon is the breakthrough in DVD copy mode. The traditional way of DVD backup is to decode and encode the DVD. This DVD copy software has changed it by copying the original DVD video/audio data before remuxing DVD to digital file. The original video tracks and original surround AC3 audio are thereby maintained to keep the original image and sound quality.

By only 3 steps, you can copy any DVD with multiple chapters into one single video file for USB-C Flash Drive on Windows 10/8.1/7/XP PCs.

STEP 1. Load DVD info

Install and launch the ripping program for DVDs. Then click “Load DVD” to import the DVD files you want to convert. To select the subtitles you like, simply click Subtitle and select the one you prefer.

Tip: When ripping TV series DVD, please select the titles you want to rip. Otherwise, this DVD Ripper will choose only one title to rip.

STEP 2. Choose an output format

This is the most important procedure in converting DVD to USB C Drive. You may want to plug USB Type-C to different devices, so the most recommended output format for you to choose is MP4, which is widely accepted by most devices and players, good in video quality and modest in file size (with great compression rate). If you are to convert DVD to MP4 for storing on the flash drive, please find “MP4” in “Common Video” and click OK.

Alternatively, you can select the profile corresponding to the target device you are to play the video on, for example, the DVD ripper has 250+ built-in profiles.

STEP 3. Start DVD ripping

Click convert button to start converting DVD/Blu-ray movies for USB Type CFlash Drive. After conversion completes, press “Open” to locate resulted files. Now, you can play DVD contents through USB C Flash Drive without any troubles. Enjoy.

How to Create ISO image from Blu-ray Disc to Hard Drive

August 4, 2017

I am going on a long trip next week, and would like to watch Blu-rays of full episodes of The Big Bang Theory on my laptop for my trip. I bought genuine discs of all seasons for I love this sitcome so much. I like Sheldon and his "May I add, Muahaha". But it is so troublesome to bring so many discs and I want to watch them with media video player software. How can I choose the right Blu-ray to Hard Drive Copy Software? Is it easy to use? How long does it take to convert Blu-ray to hard drive?

Creating an ISO image file from a Blu-ray disc for Hard Drive is easy but could take anywhere from a few minutes to over an hour, depending on the size of the disc and the speed of your computer.

You will need to copy Blu-ray contents from protected BDs and then make Blu-ray ISO with these source contents. In order to copy Blu-ray to hard drive, you need to prepare Blu-ray copy software first. And please to make sure the software you choose can support all Blu-ray discs, including the latest encrypted Blu-ray. Actually, you can try Brorsoft Blu-ray Ripper, which is able to remove all Blu-ray copy protections and encryptions such as AACS, BD-Live and BD+ and decrypt and copy Blu-ray with whole structure for future use. If you are on Mac, please get Brosroft Blu-ray copying software for Mac.

(Note: Click here for OS X 10.5)

[Part I] Backup Blu-ray to Hard Drive with Original Structures

Step 1. Load Blu-ray Movie

Launch the Blu-ray Ripper and click disc button to load original Blu-ray disc. You need a Blu-ray Disc drive (either external or internal) to read Blu-ray Disc.

Step 2. Decrypt and copy Blu-ray contents to hard drive

Click the quick button "Copy the entire disc" to start copying the Blu-ray disc to hard drive, including the menus, titles, ads, etc. Full disc copy means to help users to backup the whole contents(menus, titles, ads, etc) of a Blu-ray disc remaining the original structures.

As soon as the copying task finished, you can click "Open" button to locate the Blu-ray directory. And in usual, the BDMV directory is contained by default. To create those Blu-ray backups to ISO image files, you need to add the CERTIFICATE folder in most cases.

[Part II] Create an ISO File with ImgBurn

1. Get an ISO compiler

The most widely used tool for compiling files into ISO is the ImgBurn utility, which is also free. Download and install the software.

2. Load BDMV and CERTIFICATE folder to ImgBurn

Open ImgBurn; start compiling feature by double clicking on the "Create image file from files/folders" and navigate to the title folder, double-click it, then select the BDMV and Certificate folders along with any extra.

July 19, 2017

Where gives you a solution of Camtasia Studio DVD importing problems that DVD fans often meet while playing or editing DVD clips in Camtasia Studio 8/7/6 etc.

Acting as a professional screen recording and video editing software, Camtasia Studio and Camtasia for Mac are not only a screen video capture software but also video editor software which also allows the user to record audio from a microphone or speakers, and to place a webcam’s video footage on the screen. We may choose the generally used Camtasia Studio (7, 8) to merge, split, trim, crop, edit and create videos.

Besides directly editing the recorded file, Camtasia Studio can also support to edit the videos people import.

When we want to edit our DVD videos through Camtasia Studio (7, 8), it fails. Why? Because Camtasia Studio do not support DVD format video as the input.

If you want to import some footages from DVD into Camtasia Studio, you must convert or re-record them into one of Camtasia Studio supporting formats, like AVI, mp4/h.264 (AVC) or WMV formats.

When doing Camtasia Studio DVD conversion, you will need a Camtasia Video Converter. Users will recommend Brorsoft DVD Ripper.

This software works very well and operation is simple. It can generates more optimal editing formats/codecs for you to use in different NLE apps, such as Adobe After Effects, Adobe Premiere Pro, Premiere Elements, Sony Vegas Pro, Windows Movie Maker and more. Personally I am very pleased with the product. As I have only used the product a few times so far it is difficult to give any constructive comments at this stage but all my conversions were done successfully with stunning image quality – I can hardly tell any quality difference.

For Mac users, please get Brorsoft DVD Ripper for Mac.
