May 9, 2016

Look for best Canon MOV conveter to transcode Canon MOV videos to Prores 422, 422HQ, ProRes 4444 for Final Cut Pro 6, FCP 7, Final Cut Pro X editing? Here is how.

Canon EOS Rebel T6i adapts H.264 QuickTime MOV to save the recording video, the same as Canon EOS Rebel T1i, Canon Rebel T3i and Canon EOS 60D. Have got a bundle of video files shot by your Canon T6i Compact Camera and want to import Canon T6i MOV video into Final Cut Pro to edit? Or would like to merge several video clips into one out of Canon cameras?

The MOV video is in H.264 codec with .mov file extension. As we all know, the H.264 codec is not easy for editing because the general software can't support the H.264 codec, including Windows Movie Maker, Sony Vegas, Windows Media Player, Avid Media Composer, Adobe Premiere, Adobe After Effects and more. Although Final Cut Pro does work with Canon HD .mov footage, in the process of H.264 video editing within Final Cut Pro, it requires that the H.264 .mov videos to be transcoded into a format better suited to editing, and this could done in FCP Log&Transfer or standalone transcoder like Apple Compressor.

To get things done faster, you can pick up the professional assistant of Canon DSLR cameras entitled Brorsoft Video Converter for Mac, change the file extentsion from ".mov" to "a codec" that FCP can read more easily (without rendering basically). The codec is Apple ProRes, which ensures maximum editing quality and efficiency when working with Final Cut Pro.
